Jenna Bush Hager is weighing in on Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding.
Bush Hager, 43, discussed the highly publicized nuptials, which are taking place in Venice, Italy, over the weekend, with guest Maria Shriver on Today With Jenna & Friends on Thursday, June 26.
“I think they’re gonna have fun. I think it’s really interesting because it’s really public. Everybody’s talking about it,” the talk show host said. “There’s protests in Venice, which I personally would hate because they’re celebrating their love.”
Bush Hager recalled her own wedding to Henry Chase Hager in 2008, which took place in her parents’ backyard in Crawford, Texas.

“I was so worried about people finding out where I was getting married,” she said. “I was thrilled … that there could be some privacy around my marriage. So, I feel a little badly [for Bezos, 61, and Sánchez, 55], although it seems they want it.”
Shriver, 69, said she hopes that people in Venice will “focus on the fact that they’re in love.” She added that her daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger, who is married to Chris Pratt, was “hyper concerned about the privacy” at their wedding.
“She wanted it to be really small and intimate and to be really aware of everyone who was there,” Shriver continued.
Shriver said that son Patrick Schwarzenegger, who is engaged to Abby Champion, has similar concerns.

Several celebrities began arriving in Venice for Bezos and Sánchez’s wedding on Thursday, including Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Tom Brady, Orlando Bloom, Sydney Sweeney and more. The couple, who got engaged in May 2023, asked their reported 200 guests not to bring any gifts, according to a message on their wedding invites shared via ABC News.
“Instead, we’re making contributions in your honor and with gratitude to you for making the journey to celebrate with us in Venice,” the message read, listing three charities. “Donations on your behalf are being made to the UNESCO Venice Office to safeguard the city’s irreplaceable cultural heritage, to CORILA to restore the lagoon habitats that protect Venice’s future and to Venice International University to support research and education for sustainable solutions.”
The message concluded, “This magical place has gifted us unforgettable memories. Our hope is that through these efforts and by you joining us, Venice will continue to inspire wonder for generations to come.”
Ahead of the nuptials, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Sánchez planned to wear custom Dolce & Gabbana couture.
“It will be a big wedding,” the insider said, noting that it would also be “a very Italian wedding.”
